We welcome the recent announcement, by BEIS and Ofgem, to create a Future System Operator that builds on the track record and skills of the ESO with enhanced roles and responsibilities to unlock additional value for consumers and drive towards net zero.
The time to act on climate change is now. As part of our team, you won't just be touching the lives of almost everyone in Great Britain - you'll be shaping the way we use and consume energy for generations to come.

The future network designs must maintain the levels of reliability we experience today whilst supporting the transition to a low carbon future, optimising the network design to deliver an electricity transmission network that is value for money and takes appropriateaccount of the environmental and community impacts.
We are looking for individuals with an inquisitive mind, who have a good understanding of the GB electricity system and are willing to shape the future.

- Lead on developing the new electricity transmission network planning process in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
- Work directly with Ofgem, in shaping the outputs of their Electricity Transmission Network Planning Review.

- Develop how to refine and change existing process(es) to meet the new network planning framework, including implementation of a transitional plan.
- Establish strong internal network to shape new network planning process.
- Identify and help to deliver the licence and code changes required for the new network planning process.
- Work collaboratively and constructively with consultants in shaping ideas and determining final proposals and recommendations.
About you
- A self-motivated, entrepreneurial, and responsible individual with the ability to perform well in challenging timescales
- Good inter-personal skills and ability to influence others, work collaboratively and constructively with external stakeholders and internal teams to achieve consensus and positive outcomes
