**Scope of the Role & Department**:
WH Smith is in a real period of transformation and at the heart of our growth plans is our people so we are growing our Talent Development team, it’s fast, fun, people and consumer focused. You will be part of a high performing People team, shaping, designingand delivering people development programmes, learning interventions that embeds a culture of continuous learning for every colleague here at WHSmith
This is a field based role, but will require flexibility to be in the Swindon Head Office on a weekly basis with travel to our London Head Office when required
**Key Responsibilities**
- ?????Carry out a full review of the current training offer to ensure that it is fit for purpose, including induction and e-learning packages and make recommendations to improve
- Accountable for the development and delivery of workshops and/ or learning interventions for all areas of the business
- Design training profiles for all roles identifying both mandatory and non-essential training and development which support the needs of the business
- Design and develop a suite of management development programmes to ensure that we have great succession to support the business growth plans
- Create excitement and build the profile of the Talent Development function within WH Smith so that our teams can see clear progression opportunities to support their own growth
- Maintain effective working relationships and proactively partner with key stakeholders across operations and the support teams to deliver bespoke learning/ team interventions that will improve performance
**Essential Skills**:
- Level 5 CIPD in Learning & Development, or HR with a specialist in Learning & Development
- Achieved related training delivery qualifications and has the experience of delivering learning and development in a variety of styles
- Experience of working in retail companies/tech or digital hiring/international markets
- Excellent stakeholder management with a high touch, collaborative, and communicative approach and the confidence to challenge thinking
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with the rest of the HR team, with a flexible approach to support on any areas which require focus
- Expertise in the creation and execution of Talent & Development programmes in retail or service focused environments
- Excellent oral, written communication and influencing skills, and the ability to present to large audiences
