We are currently looking to recruit a Housekeeper at Acacia Lodge Care Centre, Quebec Road, Henley on Thames,

**JOB PURPOSE**
The Housekeeper is responsible to the Home Manager in ensuring that the Home has high standards of cleanliness and a safe homely environment.
**CRITERIA REQUIREMENTS**
The post holder must hold the relevant experience in addition to an empathy with the elderly and have effective communication skills with all people involved in St Cloud Care plc. A confident telephone manner and an ability to promote the Home is an essentialrequirement.
A staff development programme operates and all staff are required to keep up to date in accordance with the government legislation.
**MAIN DUTIES - ENVIRONMENT**

- To carry out daily visual checks of the premises to ensure that the home remains visually appealing, and actively promote a high standard of awareness of the appearance of the home and grounds within the staff team.
- To ensure that all dining areas and lounges of the homes are presented to a high standard.
- To ensure that food service to residents is performed to a high standard, inclusive of tray service to residents in their rooms, and visitors to the home requiring refreshments.
- To ensure that all vacant rooms are presented to 'show style' standard in preparation for viewings and liaise with the Administration Manager and Maintenance Person with regard to items requiring attention.
**MAIN DUTIES - DOMESTIC**

- Ensure that all domestic and laundry staff, through their working practices, contribute to the best of their ability, to the efficient running of the home and the creation of the right atmosphere.
- Organise work schedules and routines for these staff and prioritise these procedures, when necessary.
- Supervise the duties of the domestic team to ensure that rooms and common spaces are properly cleaned, tidied and maintained, reporting to the Administration Manager any defects in paintwork, furnishings and fittings that cannot be routinely maintainedby the Maintenance Person.
- Order adequate and efficient cleaning supplies for laundry and housekeeping and the Home in general, maintaining sufficient stock at all times, whilst keeping expenditure within the budget figures laid down. An expenditure analysis will be passed to theHome Manager at the end of each month.
**MAIN DUTIES - HEALTH & SAFETY**

- Ensure that Health & Safety Policies are adhered to and that COSHH information is supplied for each cleaning product used and distributed with the said products throughout the home.
- Ensure the safe decanting and dilution of products required for domestic, laundry and catering use is carried out in accordance with COSHH data sheet recommendations and ensure stock usage is controlled.
- Ensure that all COSHH data sheets are readily available on each domestic trolley and also in a central file, include first aid emergency treatments.
- Ensure that any defective equipment is taken out of service and reported to the Maintenance Person and the Administration Manager at all times.
- To ensure that all storage areas of the Home are maintained in an efficient and presentable manner and that housekeeping stock levels are maintained.
**SENIOR OFFICER DUTIES**
- To assist the Home Manager / Administration Manager with marketing of the Home in terms of viewings and dealing with enquiries.
- To assist with staff training and awareness in the following areas:

- COSHH
- Hospitality
- Health & Safety
- Customer Care
- Take a key role in special functions the Home may be hosting and act as Coordinator between departments involved.
- To be an active member of the Management team within the Home.

This job description is not exhaustive and the Housekeeper will be expected and may be called upon to carry out any other duties that may be reasonable requested by Senior staff.
