**Band 7 Highly Specialised Cardiac Physiologist - Echocardiography with an interest in education and training**

We are seeking a suitably qualified Cardiac Clinical Scientist/Highly Specialised Cardiac Physiologist to join our established team at The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust and expand our team of multi-skilled Cardiac Physiologists. The department is BSE-accredited in all four of the following domains: training, transthoracic, transoesophageal and stress echocardiography. We perform close to 17000 TTEs per year, twice weekly elective TOE lists, and regular stress echo lists. There are physiologist-led contrast lists, Herceptin lists, and a valve clinic with opportunity for expansion. The department has established links with higher education and has an excellent track record in training physiologists. We have recently acquired a HeartWorks simulator for TTE and TOE practical training.

The Heart and Lung Centre is a cardiothoracic centre with 16 cardiologists, 6 cardiac surgeons and 2 thoracic surgeons. The cardiology department provides a 24/7 PPCI service, TAVI, MitraClip, left atrial appendage occlusion, PFO closure, heart failure clinic, ACHD clinic, complex EP service, and the full range of implantable electronic cardiac devices.

They will provide clinical leadership and promote best practice in the Echocardiography service and will demonstrate a high degree of professional autonomy and critical judgment
