We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistants to join our team in providing high-quality care to patients. As a vital member of the healthcare team, you will support individuals with daily living tasks, personal care, and emotional well-being. The Health Care Assistant (HCA) will provide essential services to the practice population while actively supporting the Practice Nursing team with enthusiasm. The role requires working within one's limitations and capabilities, with a focus on continuous development to ensure the delivery of the best, up-to-date care for patients.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Carry out health assessments on newly registered patients as appropriate e.g. testing urine, blood pressure checks, suture removal, heights, weights and taking simple document medical history.
- Report all matters pertaining to patient’s care - changes in condition / circumstances to a relevant member of the Nursing or Medical Team as a matter of priority and ensure that a documented record is kept.
- Ensure that the clinical rooms are at all times kept in a clean and orderly manner and that relevant equipment is ready for use by Nursing and Medical staff during clinic sessions.
- Assist in clinic sessions as directed by members of the Nursing and Medical Staff, ensuring that all equipment is clean and sterilised following clinic sessions.

**Essential qualifications and experience**:

- Immunisations and injections, including childhood vaccinations
- Long term condition reviews - Asthma, COPD, Diabetes, Hypertension
- Travel Vaccinations
- Smoking cessation
- Wound and dressing care
- ECGs and managing cardiac monitors
- Patient education surrounding medications, lifestyle management post procedures
- Blood Pressure monitoring
- NHS Health Checks
- Phlebotomy
