The Home Office is here to make the UK safer. Border Force is a Law Enforcement arm of the Home Office with primary responsibility for UK Border Security, including counter terrorism, immigration and customs matters.

**Job description**:
The Operational Logistics (Op Lo) Directorate has been established to provide a national delivery model for front line logistics to Border Force (BF). The Command covers four primary areas, known as pillars which cover various work areas within Op Lo.
The pillars are:
- People - Health & Safety, Op Lo Spokes and Transformation.
- Border Force Operational Learning Delivery.
- Infrastructure - Estates, National Frontier Approvals Unit (NFAU), Cyclamen Port Reconfiguration Team, the Queen’s Warehouse and Criminal Justice Unit (CJU).
- Services - Procurement, Contract Monitoring and Assets and Fleet.
There is also a Director’s Office and Secretariat, responsible for providing central and corporate support for the director and directorate.
Op Lo operates on a Hub & Spoke model. The Hub (pillars) provide centralised logístical expertise whilst directing out and fielding in requirements to BF frontline via the Op Lo Spokes. Op Lo Spokes are the Op Lo interface to the frontline customers and field all customer requirements and enquiries.
**Responsibilities**:
Your role as an Op Lo Spoke Administrative Officer (AO) sits within teams based in the Heathrow Regional Spoke. You will be required to have an understanding of how your work and the work of your team supports wider objectives of Op Lo and your customers within region.
You will provide support, input, and advice to processes within your Spoke team and provide updates to managers as required.
You will play a key role in identifying process gaps or issues and support continuous improvement. You will be required to use your own judgement and refer issues to managers as required, providing sound recommendations as required.
As part of your role, you will gather and lead actions in response to customer feedback received to drive service improvements.
In addition, you will communicate your knowledge and skills with others in an enthusiastic way, championing best practice and actively contribute to improvements in local processes both in the Hub and Spoke.
You will be required to visit terminals/ports within the Heathrow Region.
Due to the diverse nature of work that Op Lo covers, you will be required to have or work to develop knowledge of each area of work covered within the Op Lo Spoke. The below is indicative of the current requirements, but they will evolve as the business moves forward.
**People**:
- On occasion you may be required to assist the hub in requests as directed by Spoke Manager.
**Infrastructure**:
- Provide support when required, by carrying out other duties within the scope of your grade as directed by Spoke management.
- Maintain & review estates information on Facilities Management Trackers.
- Maintain an oversight of uniform ordering and collection process.
**Services**:
- Support the action of ordering & issuing/cancelling fleet fuel cards for the region.
- Support the regional vehicle fleet by reviewing & maintaining spokes fleet register. Maintain regional awareness on all fleet matters.
- Support the overall operation of the telematic Key Fob issuing, cancelling and database maintenance.
- Support the installation/removal of vehicle Telematics systems & information requests from region. To ensure efficiency, value for money and compliance.
