Repair Centre Technician

**SUMMARY**:
Under general supervision, responsible for the troubleshooting and repair of X-ray components and subsystems down to component level. Contributing to effective repairs, testing and refurbishment of those subsystems. The duties and responsibilities may changefrom time to time without notice and include but are not limited to the duties described below.
**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**:
**Technical**
- A Good understanding of PC architecture, software installation and diagnostics would be required. Networking knowledge would be an advantage but not essential.Training will be given.
- You will be required to learn a variety of specialist systems on which repaired components are tested, or complete full system repairs following product training.
- Ability to understand and follow electrical and electronic diagrams.
- Set up test equipment, make adjustments, troubleshooting, and repair systems and subsystems down to board level or component level where appropriate.
- Confer with Technical support and other technical personnel to help resolve technical problems such as product or system malfunctions, incomplete test data and data interpretation.
- Preparation of test reports and progress reports as required. Participation in Technical Support meetings providing feedback on progress.
- Complete daily transactions on Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system including procurement and stock transactions as required. Completion of relevant Engineering paperwork for activities completed. Manage repaired items inventory.
- Play an active role in confirmation that test instruments and kits are under correct calibration or required H&S testing. Liaise with 3rd parties to ensure those Items
- On occasion, you may be required to participate in prototype project work and equipment refurbishment.
- Transporting items using hand truck, and other mechanical moving or lifting devices to load and unload truck using available labour saving equipment (hi-lo, hand truck, hydraulic truck, overhead hoist, etc.).

- Must be able to effectively communicate technical issues either written or verbally.

- Ensure all Company equipment and personal PPE are properly used.
**Skills & Attributes**
- Ability to work with verbal or written instructions and use test equipment such as an oscilloscope and DVM.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Application is required.
- Good soldering skills, an interest in engineering solutions and a logical fault finding ability is desirable
**Experience**
- Must have an understanding of electro-mechanical systems and be able to interpret wiring diagrams and schematics.
- Wide ranging technical background
- Previous experience in a test and repair facility.
**Qualifications**
Relevant engineering qualification to a minimum of BTec/HNC level or equivalent.
A proven track record in a electro/mechanical engineering environment.
