Have your ever thought about becoming a Foster Carer and providing a safe place in your home for a parent and child to stay whilst they are being assessed?

**NO PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE REQUIRED - FULL TRAINING PROVIDED**

Foster Carers come from all walks of life. Some already have families, some are single and some may be unemployed. But they all have one thing in common. To provide a safe, secure and caring temporary home.

As a Foster Carer providing Parent and Child placements you will be paid an allowance of up to **£62,000** per year.

Each placement lasts for 12 weeks and you only take on 3 placements per year, with breaks in between, so in essence you’re working for 36 weeks for £62,000 per annum.

As a Foster Carer you will need the following:

- Adequate space in your home - a bedroom large enough at least for one parent and a child, who also will be sharing your kitchen and other living spaces
- You need to be able to provide the level of supervision required (assessment placements can only be made in households that have at least one carer at home full time (i.e. not out of the home for work and/or other regular commitments)
- Ability to protect other household members (in particular children) in relation to risks that some placed parents may introduce into the home: it is not practicable to combine task centred fostering with parent and child fostering, and the vulnerability/needsof all other children in the household need close consideration
- You need to be at least 21 years of age
- Live within the London / M25 region

You’ll also benefit from very close communication between Fostering Supervising Social Workers, the children’s Social Workers and a specialist Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service for children in Care.
