**Highways Authorisations Assistant (6 month contract)**

**Working Pattern: 37 hrs per week - Monday to Friday**

**Location: West Bridgford, Nottingham**

Via is currently looking for a Temporary Highways Authorisations Assistant to join our Street Works & Road Works Team based at our Trent Bridge House Office.

You will ensure that third party works on the highway are appropriately authorised and provide support to customers.

**The Job**

Key areas of responsibility will include:
- Respond to customer requests and enquiries and draft, prepare and issue authorisations, permissions, consents and licences
- Take payments and operate cash and banking procedures in accordance with company requirements and financial regulations
- Receive and review notifications of abnormal load movements and liaise with hauliers to enable movements
- Maintain records for Traffic Regulation Orders to ensure that they are readily accessible to all colleagues and that data published on the internet is current
- Carry out site audits of Traffic Regulation Orders and initiate remedial actions where necessary

**Mainly you will be excited to be a part of a great team, but there are just a few other things we’d like from you:

- GCSE English & Maths at grade C or equivalent knowledge of Street Works & Road Works
- Good ICT skills with experience of using Microsoft Office, internet and Asset Management
- Previous experience of basic financial processes for taking customer payments
- Awareness of current legislation, policies and procedures applicable to street works and road works
