Bellshill, United Kingdom Atkins Full time

**Do you enjoy working in safety critical industries? Do you like delivering solutions to technical problems? Are you looking for a new challenge in your career but with the right work-life balance?**

Join us as a **Senior** **Nuclear Safety / System Engineer** in our **Nuclear & Power Division** and you'll deliver innovative consultancy advice to support our clients through the completion of safety assessments, engineering / design substantiation and operational support.

In the Nuclear Safety and System Engineering teams, you will join an expanding group supporting nuclear generation, new build and decommissioning markets. You’ll help solve a wide variety of interesting problems for our clients during a significant period of growth in the nuclear industry. As you progress you will develop and mentor teams of engineers to further support our growth.

We know that different people have different priorities, which is why we're here to support you. Flexible and remote working is a central part of our culture. So, talk to us about what's ideal for you - from reduced weeks to buying more leave over school holidays. And if you're returning from a career break, ask us how we can help you transition back into work with us.

**Your purpose**:
To provide engineering and safety advice during the design, operation and decommissioning of nuclear facilities and for the production of nuclear safety documentation as part of the Site Licence Conditions.

In doing so you’ll take pride in your attention to detail and delivering quality services to our clients.

You will also enjoy providing technical input to bids and help define the approach to unique single and multi-disciplinary projects.

**What you can bring?**

You will also help develop and grow teams of engineers to support delivery to our clients.

As a minimum we need you to be;
- Educated to degree level, or equivalent, in engineering or technical field.
- ~8 years of relevant industry experience.
- Proactive with a willingness to learn and adapt to changing roles and priorities within a fast paced consultancy environment.
- Able to produce and review high-quality technical reports.

**Why work for Atkins?**

Flexible and remote working is a central part of our culture. We have offices in Bristol, Warrington, Epsom, Sheffield, Derby and Glasgow. This enables flexibility in where the role would be based; aware of that fact that projects may require a physical presence on client sites (site visits, on-site operational support, etc.).

We value your diversity and believe that everyone deserves to thrive - no exceptions. You'll be part of a culture committed to finding new talent from underrepresented groups. We're Disability Confident, an Inclusive Employer, and support STEM Returners. We also want to see more women in senior roles at Atkins. In the energy sector, we've signed up to the AXIS Pledge, promising to make equal pay, equal leadership, and equal opportunities a reality.

We encourage participation in all forms of training and have a comprehensive program of in-house and well as external training for all of our engineers.

**Rewards and Benefits**:
