At the NHS, we are reminded every day of how important life is. As a flexible working friendly organisation, we want to be sure that you can work in a way that is best for us and for our patients, and for you. Speak to us about how we might be able to accommodate a flexible working arrangement whether that’s job share, part time or another flexible pattern. In addition, although the role advertised may have a ‘home’ office base indicated, we remain committed to supporting flexibility around workplace locations. If it works for the service, we will do our best to make it work for you.
We are looking to recruit to 3 Occupational Therapy Support Worker roles in our Adult Community Mental Health Teams in the East, Mid and West of the County. We welcome applicants with a range of experiences and transferable skills that would enhance the health and well-being of our service users in the broadest sense.
You will have excellent communication skills and be focused on delivering patient-centred care, working with the individual to explore their strengths and the things they can do to increase their well-being and quality of life.
We are looking for someone with the ability to work creatively, to build a strong rapport with people, and who is passionate to utilise meaningful activity to improve recovery outcomes for people with severe and enduring mental illness.
You will be a highly valued member of a dedicated multi-disciplinary team. Under the supervision of the Occupational Therapists, you will implement specific 1:1 interventions and deliver therapeutic groups to aid mental health recovery.
This post is static and full time working 37.5 hours per week. There are 3 posts available based in Liskeard, St Austell and Penzance.
Our mission is to provide a safe and empowering environment steeped in a caring, culture of acceptance, curiosity and empathy.
We are dedicated to building a compassionate workplace where quality improvement to the services we provide is at the heart of everything we do.
Here’s what we can offer you:
- You will be a valued member of the Occupational Therapy profession, and the multi-disciplinary team, including ICMHT’S and wider Adult Mental Health Services.
- A role that enables you to be forward thinking and proactive in patient care.
- A leadership structure including line management, clinical and professional supervision from the Occupational Therapy team, and a supportive professional group including opportunities for peer supervision and sharing best practice.
- You will be offered specific Occupational Therapy CPD opportunities to enhance your learning and understanding of the profession as well as in house training.
- Regular reflective practice and clinical supervision.
- Staff benefits, including planned wellbeing time.
- Opportunities to contribute to the development of community mental health services.
If you would like to know more, we would love to have an informal conversation with you about this post. Please call or visit us in beautiful Cornwall which is a fantastic place to live and work.
