Senior Engineer

Rate: £400-450 per day

Start Date: ASAP

Location: Norwich

Duration: 6 Months +

My client is currently looking for a Senior Engineer to join their project on a major highways project in the Norwich Area.

RESPONSIBILTIES:

- Managing the delivery of highway/motorway project
- Setting out for road formation
- Demonstrable experience on design and build projects
- Liaising at an appropriate level with clients, stakeholders and other technical disciplines to deliver innovative, value-for-money designs and solutions within time and cost constraints
- Produce QA/QC control plans for site works and manage those plans to the completion
- Undertake works temporary works requirements and produce temporary works briefs for issue Undertake basic take-off
- Raising technical queries with designers and other members of team
- Carry out relevant inspections and testing to ensure conformance of the works with the design and specification
- Daily management of the engineering teams
- Management of the requirements set out in the work scope
- Ensure all work complies with quality, safety and environmental policies and the requirements of the company procedures
- Daily monitoring of the works health and safety requirements
- Read and review construction drawings
- Working with Contractors to develop detailed designs and construction support services for major highways projects and services

REQUIREMENTS:

- Previously worked on highways/heavy civils project
- Experience on surfacing/tarmac working on new road/highway based projects
- Tier 1 contractor, sub-contractor and/or client experience
- Experience working on nuclear projects (as a minimum) - nuclear new build or nuclear decommissioning experience
- Understanding of QA paperwork
- Civil Engineering or Construction based qualification
- Site based civil engineering or site-based construction back-ground with experience of reinforced concrete works, structural steelwork, roads & street works
- Strong civils experience
- SMSTS/SSSTS Card
- Good team-working skills, particularly in relation to the delivery of multi-disciplinary projects
- Good communication skills at all levels
