An exciting opportunity has arisen for a senior residential support worker to support the team and the launch of a new Children’s home. Applicants will be experienced in working with children with emotional, behavioural and social difficulties, mental health problems and /or complex needs between the ages of 8 and 18.

You will be required to work in partnership with the local/placing authorities, parents or carers and other agencies. The main focus of the job is to promote independence of young people and support the staff team in the daily functioning of the home and to lead the shift

**Job purpose**:

- To work within a time in order to provide a safe and secure home for young people aged between 8 and 18.
- Promoting a caring environment which provides children and young people with a high standard of specialised personal care, meeting individual needs and ensuring everyone is treated with respect and dignity and rights to privacy, independence and choice are met.
- To support young people and staff in maximising their potential in a safe and caring environment
- To achieve the highest standard of service delivery as measured by Ofsted against the Children’s Homes National Minimum Standards

**Essential requirements**
- At least 1 year recent experience in a relevant field
- Understanding and knowledge of the issues faced by this client group.
- Experience of personal care
- Knowledge of Child in Need, Child Protection and LAC plans.
- Creative approach to empowering clients to achieve positive outcomes
- Commitment to safeguarding and protecting the clients
- Commitment to the care and well-being of clients
- Dedication to continued professional and personal development.

**Salary**: £11.50-£12.50 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Overtime
- Weekend availability
