JOB OVERVIEW; Senior Software Engineer / Principal Engineer / Back-End Software Engineer / Developer (Go / Golang, DevOps, AWS, GraphQL, Bitbucket, Kubernetes, Docker, K8's, Tilt) sought by exciting technology company start-up (established 2014) and providerof mobile apps.

CONTRACT TYPE; 3 month renewable contract, remote-working

RATE; Negotiable up to c£750 pday.

LOCATION; Remote-working anywhere within 2 hours of London timezone.

THE ROLE;
My client an innovative mobile app developer is looking for a principal engineer with strong engineering and good leadership experience to transform, to lead and to grow their software engineering operation which is currently 4 heads.

Current stack is microservices written Go, orchestrated by K8s on AWS, backed by Postgres and some other AWS services. Frontend is primarily React Native + GraphQL + Expo. The development flow is well automated - extensively utilise CI/CD across three stagedenvironments - and test extensively at unit and integration level.

Reporting directly to the Head of Engineering, you will be a core member of the development team with the following key responsibilities:

- Delivery of the server components
- Deployment and management of production systems
- Operational support of the platform
- Supporting mobile app requirements
- Working with product and content creation teams to ensure we are meeting their requirements

CANDIDATE PROFILE;
- Strong server development experience using Golang / Go
- CI/CD, AWS
- Excellent experience of building and managing DevOps processes, particularly around our stack of BitBucket pipelines, K8s and Tilt.
- Strong communication and influencing skills. Able to build rapport and trust with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Ability to work at pace and under pressure and comfortable with making decisions on limited information
