Coventry City Council Children’s Services will provide you with an environment where social work can flourish, with high support, high challenge and manageable caseloads.
What is the job role?
We are looking for a Senior Practitioner to join our Looked After Children and Permanence team on a **12 month fixed term or secondment basis, covering maternity leave.**
You will make the most of your social work and specialist experience by holding a smaller caseload, also supporting a team of Social workers and taking a lead in the development of their practice.
We are aspirational about the children we work with, and we really value the contributions of our innovative practitioners. You will have opportunity to join and lead on initiatives to support the development of the service.
This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
Who are we looking for?
In order to be successful in the role it is essential that you hold a Degree /MA in Social Work, Dip SW, CSS or CQSW (or relevant Social Work England validated Social Work qualification from another country)
You will be expected to possess significant post-qualifying experience and will assist the Team Manager in the development, management and supervision of a team of social workers and Child and Family workers.
