We are looking for someone with knowledge and experience in performing inspections on a variety of structures involving difficult and complex constructions with sophisticated mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic systems and equipment.

**About the role**:
You will be responsible for performing inspections and surveillance of difficult and complex construction projects. You will be performing duties as a technical consultant to the relevant agencies. As well as perform duties related to inspection of facilities, utilities, equipment and materials and maintain sustainment management systems. You will gather information to compile into written inspection reports, updates sustainment management systems. An appropriate, valid CAT B driver’s license is required**.** Your hours of work will be **37.5 hours per week on a fixed Schedule Mon-Fri 0800-1630** where start & end times may be modified due to mission needs and in accordance with the organization’s flexible working policies.

**About you**:
You will show knowledge of construction inspection practices and procedures involved in the inspection of building materials, workmanship, utilities, and the installation of systems; and the practical methods and techniques of engineering principles relating to complex construction practices and procedures, as well as show knowledge of electrical, mechanical, water, fuels, and structural aspects of major construction projects and existing facilities. You will have knowledge of inspection and safety practices and procedures in the construction industry and knowledge of engineering and architectural plans and specifications to read and interpret construction requirements. For this position you will have knowledge of construction trades, algebra, geometry, and trigonometry and have ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
**Qualification requirements**:
- Basic requirement for this position is **specialized experience** in the area **OR** a **combination** of Education and Training **HND/HNC/BTEC, City and Guilds, NVQ, or equivalent qualifications in an appropriate discipline**, together with a minimum of **three year’s work experience** in the trade**.**
- A valid **CAT B**driving license is required.
**Other significant facts about the role**:
You will be required to handle and safeguard sensitive information in accordance with applicable US and UK laws, rules and regulations. You may be required to travel by military and/or civilian aircraft, and you may also be required to travel to the US or other country, in the performance of official duties or attend necessary training, this position may also be coded as mission essential. You will be required to complete a **6-month** probationary period. Overtime may be required, and you may be assigned other duties not included in this position description, but that are appropriate to the grade and skill set of the incumbent. Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Workmay require for you to frequently travel away from the normal duty station. This position may be coded as mission essential.
