**The Role**:
To ensure the effective delivery of all fire safety to a high level throughout Cygnet’s portfolio, both on a strategic and operational level to the Cygnet Group. Acting as the specialist lead of Fire Safety to ensure that Cygnet successfully discharges itsstatutory obligations, providing assurance to the Group Head of Health & Safety on all fire safety matters.
**Location**:
This is a Home based role with National travel, which requires regular presence on site across the portfolio.
**Your day-to-day**
- Manage the fire risk assessment programmes and ensure robust systems are in place for appropriate fire safety with all assets register items included.
- Provide leadership and expert technical knowledge to manage compliance of all aspects of fire safety across all assets, Ensuring Cygnetmeetboth statutory and non-statutory fire safety responsibilities to meet both regulatoryresponsibilities and associatedbuilding regulations and be able to communicate the information in a clear, articulate and persuasive manner working positively and inclusively with colleagues and understanding of the impact to services
- Provide support, guidance and training to assistthe Cygnet Group to adhere with the compliance with Construction Design and Management regulations (CDM 2015)on sites where construction projects defined within the scope of the regulations have been commissioned
- Assist in procurement of contractors for fire safety works, drafting work specifications and quality standard where needed. Participate on tender of valuation and contractor selection as required.
- Providing on-going advice on the competency of contractors and operatives to undertake works and ensuring robust contract management of the selected contractors by monitoring quality of work to determine compliance with fire safety legislation and guidance.
**You are**:
- Full clean driving licence and own vehicle.
- Level 4 Fire Qualifications (FSC)
- Hold Fire Engineering Degree or actively working towards attaining
- Member of Institute of Fire Engineers (ideally a full member MIFireE).
- Demonstrable experience in delivering and reviewing Fire Risk Assessments across a portfolio of property types
- Clear understanding of fire integrity/ compartmentation / fire engineering.
- Demonstrable Technical Lead/ management position;
- Project management, either actual projects, or through the general nature of the role; Process/ documentations development;
- Ability to carry out Investigations
- Good Management Knowledge of legal requirements and good practice,
- Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and regulation for managing fire safety within a care home setting,
- Proven experience of contractor, Fire Safety Management
- Thorough understanding of Fire Safety Regulatory Reform Order 2005 / Fire (Scotland) Act 2005 and Building Safety Bill, Fire Safety Act 2021
