Are you looking to kick-start your career in Trading Standards within a shared service across West Berkshire, Bracknell Forest and Wokingham Council's? The Public Protection Partnership is offering an exciting apprenticeship opportunity within our Public Protection Service, where you will learn and work alongside experienced professionals to ensure compliance with trading standards legislation and protect consumers.
**The Role**
As a Trading Standards Officer Apprentice, there will be an emphasis on Tobacco and Vape enforcement. You will also be supported to learn to undertake a range of enforcement and compliance activities, including:
- Investigating complaints and breaches of trading standards legislation
- Conducting inspections and audits of businesses
- Gathering evidence and preparing reports
- Providing advice and guidance to traders
- Participating in enforcement actions, such as seizures and prosecutions
You will work under the guidance of experienced Trading Standards Officers, who will mentor you throughout your apprenticeship. This is an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience and develop the skills necessary to become a qualified Trading Standards Officer.
The apprenticeship you will complete is the Level 6 Trading Standards Professional Apprenticeship (CSA).
- A keen interest in Trading Standards and consumer protection
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Attention to detail and ability to analyse information
- Full driving licence and access to a vehicle
No prior experience is necessary, as this apprenticeship is designed for individuals who are eager to learn and develop their skills. However, a positive attitude and willingness to take on challenges are essential.
