**Shift pattern Sunday - Thursday 10pm - 6am**

**Role Purpose**

To ensure the hygiene standards are maintained and areas cleaned according to cleaning schedules in the most cost-effective manner in full compliance with current customer standards. To follow GMP, HACCP and Allergen controls and always maintaining the Health and Safety and the welfare of all staff members and yourself. The hours of work will be 37.5 hours per week working Monday to Friday 22:00pm to 06:00am. Flexibility will be required within your normal working week to meet business requirements which will change from time to time and may result in the company requiring you to work alternative shifts.

Key Accountabilities

Safety - Health, Safety & Environmental
- Responsible for maintaining a safe working environment, communicating appropriately and working collaboratively with the H&S department and other teams.
- Assist in accident investigations, reports and appropriate training of operatives as required.
- Ensure that the cleaning equipment is clean and suitable for purpose.

GMP - Good Manufacturing Practice/Standards
- Accountable for ensuring GMP compliance throughout both sites of responsibility to maintain an ‘Audit Ready Everyday’ environment.
- Ensures Hygiene team are competent in maintaining the required standards.
- Support all relevant activities in preparation for customer audits and third-party visits.
- Carry out self-audits on equipment to ensure hygiene standards are maintained.
- Complete and sign off action points raised in GMP and Pest Control audits.
- Measured through internal and external audit processes and non-conformances.

Quality - Quality Products/Specifications
- Ensure that the cleaning manual is up to date with all the cleaning tasks documented and recorded.
- Carry out training of staff against cleaning schedules and use of cleaning chemicals.
- Ensure the colour coded cleaning equipment is in the correct designated areas
- Conduct handovers, Production to Hygiene. Hygiene to Production.

Quantity - Service levels
- Ensuring all areas cleaned according to cleaning schedules in place and to standards required.
- Complete paperwork for daily, weekly, monthly, 6 monthly & annual schedules - be able to demonstrate this to third party auditors.

Cost - Efficiency/Improvement Programmes
- Monitoring of the chemical dosing units to ensure titrations are within specification and to encourage proactive cost management and improvement initiatives.
- Maintain and control stock levels for all cleaning chemicals, cleaning equipment and consumables.

People - Values, Team Management & Coaching
- Accountable for the day-to-day management of the Hygiene team within both sites.
- Ensure that the Hygiene team understand their roles and responsibilities and deliver to the required standards.
- Working closely with Production Shift Managers to ensure the site hygiene standards are met and maintained.
- Liaise with other departments as necessary.

Communication - Cross functional and at all levels
- Responsible for the cascading of appropriate information to the Hygiene team through daily huddles and ad hoc as required and escalating of information to the Hygiene Manager and other departments cross functionally.
- Ensure a successful shift handover daily and create this into the night shift report that provides appropriate information to the Daily Review Meeting and keep the Production Manager informed of relevant information.
- Ability to work on own initiative (e.g., if areas need cleaning additional to documented schedule)
- Measured through engagement score and evidence of open cross functional communication of performance led activities and priorities.

- Adherence to policies and procedures at all times.

- Ensure areas are cleaned according to cleaning schedules in place and to standards required.
- Complete/check paperwork to ensure all correct to audit standards.
- Complete actions raised on GMP, Retailer, Third party and Pest Control audits.
- Ensure all equipment, machinery parts have a written cleaning procedure and are on the cleaning schedule.
- Ensure cleaning equipment is clean and suitable for use.
- Ensure correct colour coding equipment is in use.
- Control of chemicals onsite including Storage, usage, PPE adherence.

Performance Measures*
- Ensure all paperwork completed to audit standards.
- Carry out random checks on equipment to ensure hygiene standards are maintained.
- Help the training of staff against cleaning schedules.
- Ensure cleaning tasks assigned to the Hygiene Staff are carried out.
- Monthly Hygiene % Compliance to Schedule.
- Audit Performance - Customer / third party and internal Audits.
- Hygiene team Absenteeism and report to Hygiene Manager.**Knowledge Skills & Experience**
- At least 2 years’ hygiene experience in a supervisory position in a food manufacturing environment.
