**Summary**:
The Tactical Products Team is one of several Production Teams within Customer Division that are responsible for the maintenance and production of the UKHO’s extensive range of navigational and situational awareness products and services for the Royal Navy and our commercial customers. This task encompasses the full spectrum of activity, from product updating and delivery to the development of new products to meet the changing needs of our customers and ensure safety of life at sea.

**Job description**:
The purpose of the role is to contribute to meeting output targets (KPM1) through the compilation, updating and delivery of Situational Awareness Products for our Defence Customer as agreed in the annual Service Definition Annex (SDA) within the Defence Hydrographic Programme.

Key tasks include:
› Production and maintenance of the Defence Marine Environmental Product suite.

**Responsibilities**:
Tasks in the Tactical Products Team fall within four key customer areas. Post holders will primarily focus on one area but may be required, when appropriate, to cross train in other activity areas to support the overall output of the Team.

The post being advertised here will be focussed on Environmental Products. Post holders will work internally with the ENV team and collaborate with specialists in the Ocean Environment (OE) team to ensure correct interpretation of information and will primarily undertake the following tasks within the role. These are created using a variety of software, predominantly Adobe Creative Cloud (ACC), and ESRI ARCMap to produce ENV products for the Defence user and the wider MOD:
› Production of Marine Environment Tactical Products for the Fleet customer

› Creation and maintenance of Defence Maritime Environmental Briefs (DMEBs)

› Compilation of Environmental Awareness Charts (EACs)

› Research to identify other relevant authoritative sources outside OE remit to maximise product content.

› Manipulation of source data, product design and finishing using Adobe Creative Cloud software together with GIS techniques.

› Respond to requests for bespoke packages (RFIs). Prepare and supply direct to customer as required.

› Provide assistance where required to Tactical Products SMEs.

In addition, ALL Team members will also undertake the following tasks in support of the team:
› Coach and mentor less experienced staff

› Support Continuous Improvement activity including process improvement and change charters

› Record task progress and maintain defect reporting logs.

› Support Customer engagement and participate in hosting visitors

› Ensure that JSP440 Security regulations are adhered to at all times.

› Support development activity including use of ArcGIS Pro and S100/500 within Defence frameworks.

**Person Specification**

You will have practical experience in utilising Adobe Creative Cloud (ACC), Acrobat Pro/DC, ESRI ArcGIS and MS Office 365 software packages to manipulate, manage and present data sets or generate products. - This role is open to full time, part time, job share. The UKHO will consider flexible working or workplace adjustments, where appropriate.
- The role will be contractually based at our Head Office in Taunton. We are working remotely at present but envisage a hybrid working model post pandemic whereby you will be able to balance your work location between working remotely and in the office. You must be able to travel to the office as and when required.
