Production of monthly management accounts, providing commentary on areas of variance (the management pack includes P&L, balance sheet, forecast, actuals, debtors and creditors report, cashflow),
- Assist in preparation of the annual budgets (compile with information from previous year and Exec team input),
- Preparation of the annual financial accounts in liaison with our external accountants.
- Examining all financial reports and interrogating data closely to check for any discrepancies,
- Cost analysis and reporting (reporting any concerns over irregular/high expenditure in the month),
- Preparing any internal reports as required by management,
- Suggest updates and improvements for accounting functions, including payroll and invoicing,
- Ensuring all financial controls are at a satisfactory level,
- Ensuring that all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed and reported,
- Preparing the quarterly VAT returns,
- Dealing with any HMRC queries,
- Recording, reconciling and submitting PAYE settlement agreements,
- Daily cash flow management and reporting,
- Maintaining SAGE 50 systems as required,
- Cashbook management and allocation of bank transactions from cashbook,
- Management of accruals,
- Calculate and prepare tax and vat payments,
- Bank Reconciliation,
- Check and verify source documents such as invoices and receipts,
- Allocate and post financial transactions,
- Month-end journal postings,
- Run and maintain fixed asset register,
- Accounts payable and receivable,
- Maintain internal control systems,
- Produce monthly sales forecast, invoice, cost of sale, utilisation and WIP reports training will be provided,
- Other team members raise purchase orders, invoices, purchase invoices and complete payrolltraining will be given to aid a working knowledge of the job cost system.

**The Right Person**
- Essential: min. AAT-qualified or equivalent,
- Demonstratable accounting / bookkeeping experience within an SME environment, with solid knowledge of the latest accounts principles & procedures,
- Systems: Proficient with SAGE 50. Experience using SAGE Business Cloud advantageous,
- Up-to-date knowledge of legislation & regulatory requirements,
- Effective communication skills, confident in presenting financial information to senior management,
- Proactive and able to work on own initiative with mínimal supervision,
- Excellent planning, organisation and deadline time keeping skills.
