**SPECIAL REQUIREMENT TO THE POST**

THIS POSITION IS PART-TIME OR FULL-TIME - MINIMUM 25 HOURS PER WEEK MAXIMUM 37 HOURS PER WEEK, MONDAY-FRIDAY **You must be able to work shifts between 7.45am and 6.15pm. You will be required to work between our main surgery in Newnham Walk, Cambridge and branch surgeries.**

**Experience of using SystmOne is desirable.**

Ability to use own judgement, resourcefulness and be able to work under pressure without direct supervision. Able to work as part of a team.

To have excellent communication skills and patience.

To be reliable and flexible.

To observe strict confidentiality on all matters relating to the Practice and it’s patients.

**MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES**

1. Ensure an effective and efficient reception service is provided to patients and any other visitors to the Practice.

2. Deal with all general enquiries, book new and follow-up appointments.

3. Receive and make telephone calls as required. Take messages, ensuring accuracy of details and prompt appropriate delivery.

4. Enter requests for home visits on to computer, ensuring careful coding of all relevant details and where necessary refer to Duty Doctor.

5. Action repeat prescription requests and ensure that they are ready for collection by the patient within 48 hours.

6. Enter patient information on to the computer as required, including new registrations, accurately and promptly.

8. Undertake any other additional duties appropriate to the post as requested by the Partners or the Practice Manager.
