- **14 hours per week - **Note that these hours will be effective from March (every weekend), however hours are available prior to this as part of respite care from the start of February

**Please note the family have a lively little dog, so you will need to be comfortable around animals.**

**Job Purpose**:To provide reliable and consistent support for a gentleman with Muscular Dystrophy. He wants to be as independent as possible. Reliability and consistency is paramount. It takes time to build up a rapport and you need to be confident in your approach to all tasks.

**Having common interests are really important, Science Fiction, Computer games, good IT skills to be able to connect Gaming to the TV, being patient and learning the way I prefer things to be done**

**You must be**

**Training and Development**

You will receive full training in all aspects of duties.
- BiPAP
- Cough Assist
- Nebuliser use
- Oral Suction
- Pressure Area Care & Wound Management
- Basic Life Support/CPR
- Dysphagia & choking
- Medication administration

You will be supported and encouraged to undertake role specific training and education opportunities to develop your skills further. You are required to undertake all mandatory training relevant, online and in person

**Duties**:

- Personal care.
- Support to manage incontinence, including continence support and measures to maintain a good skin state.
- Medication administration
- Monitoring of general health and wellbeing, daily record keeping as such.

**You will undergo an enhanced DBS at the cost to the company.**
