**Job description**

Compton Pre-School is a busy and thriving charity run Pre-School based in Compton, Newbury, Berkshire. We provide a safe and happy learning environment for children to come to, for up to 6 hours each day, from the age of 2 years. We provide a variety of ‘learning through play’ activities and have an informal education policy, which aims to cover the 'seven areas of learning' from the EYFS to prepare children for full-time education.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, caring and nurturing person to join our wonderful team.

You will be working as part of the pre-school team under the direction of the Manager/Deputy, to provide a safe, positive and nurturing environment for children to learn and grow. You will be assisting with the planning of the curriculum using EYFS; helping set up for the daily programme and maintaining a clean and organised classroom.

You will have high expectations of the children's abilities and foster social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development through play and structured activities. You will monitor and assess each child's progress and communicate effectively to provide feedback to parents/guardians regarding their child's development.

You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and love to work collaboratively as part of a close team.

This is a part time role working Monday to Friday from 8.40am to 3.10pm. You will work term-time only in line with Berkshire Local Authority (38 weeks) and will be entitled to the same holiday as West Berkshire Local Authority, plus we offer the opportunity for term time leave.

The Pre-school boasts a sound financial position to support ongoing operations which is run closely with the help of a dedicated pre-school Committee.

Your salary is competitive and is annually reviewed against other pre-school settings. Pension scheme included if applicable.

Following successful completion of probationary period, we will offer Food Safety & Hygiene training and First Aid training. We also offer a comprehensive inhouse training package for continuous professional development. Safeguarding is of the utmost importance and training will be regularly refreshed. **Responsibilities**:

**Skills**:

- Ability to drive positive learning outcomes
- Experience in childcare or nursery settings
- Strong leadership skills to guide and support young children
- Excellent communication skills to interact with children, parents, and colleagues
- Proficiency in English language
- Qualification preferred but not essential.

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: £11.79 per hour

Expected hours: 32.5 per week
