Althams Butchers is one of the oldest and largest independent family owned & run butchers in the country. We specialise in quality meat and meat products for wholesale, serving hotels, restaurants (including several Michelin Star establishments), pub chains, conferencing venues and catering companies UK wide. We operate a state of the art plant in Morecambe, Lancashire. Our Location on the edge of the Lake District, Lancashire and Yorkshire gives us access to some of the best cattle and lamb markets in the UK.

**Duties**
- To maintain the hygiene stands throughout Althams butchers production areas (removal of acclimated rubbish, recycling, and genal waste, cleaning of floors walls, working surfaces, hygiene stations and replenishment of cleaning chemicals.
- To assist production operatives in equipment cleaning on changes overs.
- To prepare production areas for the night hygiene team.

**Responsibility**
- To be responsible for the hygiene standards with Althams butchers production areas.
- To be reactive to areas requiring hygiene.
- To ensure cleaning chemicals, utensils and equipment is maintained
- To ensure all areas are left in a clean and organised state at the end of each day.
- All associated rubbish, recycling and meat waste are removed and disposed of correctly.
- To report all breakdowns and incidents to the QA manager.
- To self-manage your time efficiently.

**General**
- You report directly to the QA manager, at times you may be requested to carry out further duties outside of your agreed tasks and shift patterns.
- To attend all training courses.

**Health & Safety**

To comply with Althams Butchers Ltd Health & Safety Policy you are expected to:

- To follow the policy to ensure your own and colleagues safety while carrying out your duties.
- To report any failings in the policy not being followed.
- To correctly wear your issued Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times while carrying out your duties.

**Food Safety**

To comply with Althams Butchers Ltd Food Safety Policy you are expected to:

- To correctly wear your issued PPE while carrying out your duties.
- To comply with related Food Safety policies and procedure while carrying out your duties.
- To report any failings in the policies procedures are not being followed.

Hours are 3-12pm over 5 days, with 2 x 30 min breaks per day.

Experience would be preferred but not essential as training will be given.
