In this role, you’ll design, drive & lead Novartis Country reputation management and corporate brand positioning within the UK. You will be responsible for traditional and Social Media management, including corporate channel management. You will drive the above-brand Country issues and any corporate issues management.
You will also be responsible for developing and implementing strategic programs to strengthen reputation and shape the healthcare environment for the local business. As part of a highly collaborative team, you will be expected to develop and enhance our corporate narrative and leverage content from our brand communications positioning, ESG projects, and patient engagement work, into our external positioning. You will also need to work closely with the associate engagement team to ensure the Novartis team has visibility of our external work.
The social media and digital responsibility will require you to analyze and assess our external communications to ensure constant improvement within our external reputation; whilst also driving innovation in this area to ensure we are using these channels for maximum impact. In addition, you will be expected to drive understanding among the Novartis IM divisions on the optimal use of Social Media.
**Your responsibilities**:
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Communicate a clear strategy (based on global strategy) and ensure that it is reflected in the Country organization, in order to protect and enhance Novartis business and reputation.
- Lead the establishment, development, and coordination of communication plans (including corporate issues management plans) in line with Country and corporate strategic goals.
- Manage communication matters relating to key products and therapeutic areas or lead the implementation of projects across the Innovative Medicines divisions, whilst also maximizing key developments in GDD and NBS.
- Manage day-to-day strategic and operational business matters for IM external communications.
- Develop and manage all Country media events, (i.e.: press releases, leadership profiles, conferences, speeches, interviews, and special programs on the TV, radio, and internet).
- Manage the implementation of Country Communication policies and processes to ensure consistency of Novartis brand and market position in external communications.
- Counsel senior management in all aspects of external, above-brand communications; select and train media spokespeople and help develop communications messages around key NVS programs and initiatives.
- Work as an active member of the Regional and Global network to ensure timely sharing of information, best practices and to effectively manage issues.

**Minimum requirements**
**What you’ll bring to the role**:
- Bachelor’s Degree/ University Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in Operations Management and Execution, Project Management, and collaborating across boundaries.
- Media and issues management - proof of positive impact and developing media narratives.
- Passion for social media engagement, Content Strategy, Marketing Communications, and Brand PR.
- Execution of Issues / Crisis Communications Programs and Communication Impact/Effectiveness Measurement.
