Hannah Foods are looking for a **permanent,** **canteen cook **to join our family-run business based in our local depot in **Skelmersdale. This position is a new role which will require you to be a self-starter and have experience in running an onsite canteen facility.**

This job role will be responsible for preparing and serving high quality home cooked meals to our friendly employees, maintaining the highest cleanliness and health and safety standards and menu planning and portion control.

**This job role includes**:

- Making sure all food is prepared to the highest standard
- Maintaining a high level of canteen cleanliness and maintenance
- Complying with health and safety legislation/requirements
- Maintaining allergen awareness knowledge
- Prepping food in advance for those on the night shift
- Regularly monitoring stock levels
- Ordering food and drink items when required
- Regularly updating and creating new menus
- Ensuring minimum kitchen wastage
- Serving wholesome meals
- Taking cash payments from employees/reconciling any monies received and liaising with the accounts department when necessary

**About you**:

- Experience in this field of work
- Be able to work on your own initiative
- Good time management skills
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Experience in producing fresh and healthy food from scratch
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Have a high attention to detail
- Have Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate
- Have a Level 2 Health and Safety certificate
- DBS certified

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 35 per week

**Salary**: £11.50 per hour
