**Housing Decarbonisation Lead - Green Book Grade 5 - Full Time**
**Fixed Term Position for 3 years**

A exciting opportunity has arisen for the position of Housing Decarbonisation Lead, within the Planning and Housing Service, this is a full time fixed term position for 3 years.

Cornwall is rapidly becoming known as a centre for excellence in clean growth and is at the forefront of tackling Climate Change. We declared a climate emergency in January 2019 and our Climate Change action plan outlines how we will reduce carbon emissions and work toward becoming carbon neutral by 2030 providing a roadmap for carbon neutrality a full twenty years ahead of the Government’s target of 2050.

Improving our homes both Council Homes and the housing stock across Cornwall are a key part of achieving this. Working with partners we have made changes we have set higher standards for new homes, delivered retrofit projects and begun work with the private rented sector. To continue this journey we need to develop and implement a strategy with targets and milestones to reduce carbon emissions from all housing in Cornwall (privately owned, rented and social) in accordance with our Climate Action Plan that strives for carbon neutrality by 2030.

**About you**
- _The post holder will need to have an understanding of the housing sector and decarbonisation, but most importantly be able to lead and drive progress on this complex challenge._
- _You will have an ability to prioritise effectively, create strategy and identify opportunities to deliver this challenge across complex organisations. _
- _You should be committed to delivering excellent outcomes and maintaining effective relationships with other officers, with colleagues at Cornwall Housing Ltd, with elected Members and other key stakeholders/partners._
- _You will have suitable qualifications commensurate to working in a position of this level._
