Public Engagement Producer

We have some pretty big questions to explore at the Trust. How can we ensure that everyone benefits from nature, beauty and history? How can we reach new audiences? As our Public Engagement Producer, you’ll champion innovation and create opportunities for more people to become involved in our work, across our channels and in the public realm.
You'll support the development of our approach to Public Engagement through delivering interventions and pilots, helping shape the future direction of this work. You will be instrumental in ensuring more people than ever can experience and connect with the National Trust on their own terms, wherever they are.
This role is offered on a 2-year fixed term contract or internal secondment opportunity.

Your contractual location will be our head office in Swindon, however there will be an opportunity to explore and agree hybrid working arrangements which strike the right balance for you and the Trust. The role will involve some travel to our head office to meet with colleagues and to carry out work.
What you'll be doing:Reporting to the Head of Public Engagement & Planning in Communications & Marketing, you'll lead the development, testing and delivery of our emergent Public Engagement work. With a small team, you'll work flexibly, delivering through others and collaborating with a range of partners to enhance our existing campaigns and create new outputs.
You'll work collaboratively across the organisation to ensure work is aligned with our strategic objectives and complements existing activity, influencing leaders to help embed Public Engagement into our operational and strategic approach.
You’ll push the boundaries of how people engage with and experience the National Trust. With a keen sense of current external trends in participation, creative interventions, experiential brand marketing and the cultural sector you’ll bring the outside in, keeping audience at the heart of our decision making.

We’d love to hear from you if you have:
- Working knowledge of UK creative, arts and cultural and/or marketing and communications sectors with a broad understanding of current practice and latest developments in creative commissioning, participatory arts and experiential brand marketing
- Knowledge of commissioning and evaluating high-impact, audience-focussed interventions and projects with an understanding of current audience trends
- Clear communication skills with ability to work across a complex organisation, influencing at a variety of levels and building productive relationships with a range of specialists and operational teams. Diplomatic and assertive where needed.
- Ability to lead matrix teams and deliver through others, from concept through to delivery and evaluation, leading innovative and stretching areas of work
- Strategic skills, able to articulate audience and business outcomes, and develop outputs to realise them across a variety of channels and places
- Experience of working with audience insight and data
- Experience of developing and managing business cases, budgets and project plans
