IT Manager

Salary - £50,000

Location: Bristol

Permanent, full-time

A figurehead to lead the IT department, acting as a motivational leader to a strong team and being the main point of contact with other senior leaders across the Trust. An enabler and customer-focused collaborator, the Head of IT Service will direct theIT department in improving the day-to day operations of IT at the trust, whilst driving a number of transformational projects through the IT infrastructure and across all schools, whilst delivering the future strategy and continued culture change towards aservice orientated, requirements driven environment.

Experienced leader and negotiator - Those seeking to manage should not apply

Aware of, experienced with, and ideally qualified in, at least 2 of the following frameworks - ITIL, Prince2, TOGAF, 6 Sigma, Microsoft Service Management (MSM), AMP, COBIT
Ideally from a Technical, or Service Management Background
Demonstrable experience in leading both cultural change, and technical transformation
Highly organised
Proven track record of delivering change and stability throughout an IT department, to deliver against the organisation's strategy
Eloquent and comfortable in delivering presentations and messaging to a wide audience, using several communication methods to all levels of staff
Experience of leading in a multi-site environment is advantageous
Experiencing of leading in Higher or Secondary education is also advantageous, but not required.
Budget management skills
Able to utilise suppliers and relationships to investigate technical trends in the marketplace that can be leveraged
Strong understanding of IT as a Service, and its importance to an organisation
- Build and maintain effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholder groups and individuals.
- Lead, manage, develop, and motivate the department to ensure the team know what is expected of them, maximise their performance and develop their potential.
- Manage the relationships and performance of IT suppliers and outsourced IT partners including negotiating terms with suppliers of all IT related services within budget and resolution of issues.
- Develop, agree, and implement the future IT strategy
- Prioritise the delivery of IT change projects, overseeing and managing the head of IT projects
- Forecast, plan, schedule and monitor resources across all areas of responsibility to manage capacity to fulfil business needs and continuity of service.
- Develop and maintain the Major Incident, Disaster recovery and Business Continuity plan for IT and to implement measures designed to safeguard the organisation and its customers in the event of major incidents or disasters.
- Ensure that the organisation is appropriately protected from an IT security perspective both in relation to internal users and external threats.
- Manage and maintain the IT Risk Register, escalating and raising to the organisational risk register where required.
