**Requirements for Graduate Trainee**

**Responsibilities for Graduate Trainee**
- To undertake the Apprenticeship & training requirements of the Practice in order to develop and progress your knowledge and skills.
- To integrate successfully with the team and provide effective support for other team members.
- To assist with bookkeeping processes as required by the team including processing of day book entries and associated control accounts.
- To correctly code the nominal codes on the client’s trial balance and input onto our accountancy preparation software, Digita.
- To have knowledge of control accounts including bank reconciliations and areas such as VAT and PAYE.
- To prepare the electronic working paper files for annual accounts assignments for review.
- To prepare analysis schedules to assist senior members of the team with the preparation of VAT returns for submission to HMRC.
- To prepare written communication for review to send to our clients to obtain information to complete the accounts preparation process.
- In respect of audit clients, to follow the instructions and plan provided by more senior members of the assignment. Work undertaken will include bank transaction testing, sales and purchase directional testing and profit and loss schedules.
- Communicate effectively with your manager or other peers in order that any areas of concern can be dealt with. To include updating them as to the progress of work undertaken.
- To deal with the team’s administrative tasks including the preparation of confirmation statements and filing of clients data onto our electronic filing cabinet, virtual cabinet.
- To adhere to and follow the Practice’s workflow procedures including updating digita practice management tasks and completing daily timesheets.
- To be prepared to take on additional tasks and follow instructions and procedures that are required for the operation of the accounts and audit process.
- To adhere to the Firm’s Health & Safety Policy at all times.

**Benefits**:

- 3 options regarding standard working hour pattern covering 37.5 hours per week.
- Option 1 - standard 7.5 hour day including one hour for lunch worked Monday - Friday (8.30am to 5.00pm) or (9am to 5.30pm).
- Option 2 - Early Finish Friday - 4 week cycle - Monday to Thursday 8.30am to 5.30pm/Friday 8.30am to 1.15pm (3 weeks) Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5.30pm (1 week)
- Option 3 - 9 Day Fortnight - 2 week cycle - Monday to Friday week 1 10am to 5.30pm / Monday to Thursday week 2 8.10am to 5.30pm with one hour for lunch.
- Flexible Working Hours - all staff have the ability to adopt flexible working each day by starting up to one hour before or one hour after their contracted start time. The same number of hours still need to be worked on that day.
- Annual bonus payment (usually between 2-5% per annum)
- Holiday can be booked for any amount of time and not isolated to half or full days.
- TOIL scheme to build up overtime for use for emergencies without the need to use annual leave (up to 2 days)
- Paid overtime, where agreed in advance, paid monthly.
