As a Barclays Application Support for Markets you will will prioritize technical system support and improvement in the areas of (1) reliability engineering (2) Infrastructure (3) DevOps. Where the trade floor support team face off directly to the Trading Desks, the systems engineering teams are supporting the business by operating to improve reliability through observability and automation, collaborate with developers to improve speed and quality of change, support platforms across Core, IaaS and Specialised Infrastructure.

**What will you be doing?**:

- Monitoring underlying system health, functionality, and availability to proactively detect and prevent issues from impacting the business.
- Improving monitoring and alerting capabilities primarily through ITRS but also through other strategic platforms.
- Whilst focus will be on systems engineering, all members will perform a smaller portion of business facing support to provide scaling capability to the front office support team
- You will log and track incidents and issues following the ITIL standards; Tracking outstanding issues and working with the appropriate parties to achieve resolution and prevent re-occurrence.
- You will drive major incident technical recovery, maintaining and improving playbooks and documentation.

**What we’re looking for**:

- Strong understanding of at least one coding language
- Strong understanding of at least one operating system
- Experience in a production support or development environment at a large company
- A selection of several of the below skills from the desirable section

- Python, SQL, C++, C#, Linux OS, Windows OS, Citrix, XML, Web services, Oracle, Excel, Java, Kibana, ITRS, QARostpy, understanding of Pricing Graphs
- Understanding of Financial institutions, Front office technology and Foreign Exchange

**Where will you be working?**
You will be based in Radbroke, Knutsford. The Barclays Technology Campus just outside Manchester is our tech command centre and a vital strategic powerhouse behind our global operations. The campus is set in a 64 acre self-contained site, in a beautiful green environment and it offers unrivalled facilities for work and for play. We have an onsite gym, as well as outdoor tennis, football and cricket areas, as well as onsite restaurant and coffee shops.
