Personal and Professional Development (PPD) supports excellence in learning, teaching and research at the University of Cambridge by providing professional, vocational and leadership development for 10,000+ university staff in support of the University's mission and strategy.
We require a confident, organised and approachable Administration Team Leader to ensure that, through a team of six administrative staff, a professional and efficient administrative service is provided to fully support and contribute to the development of a range of services and the programme delivery of Personal and Professional Development.
This role is a job share, with the two job share roles making up a full-time post. As such, we are seeking someone who is flexible and, working in partnership with the job share partner, is able to present a clear, consistent approach to team management and the responsibilities of the role.
You will be responsible for managing the team, including carrying out annual reviews, recruitment and development of team members, co-ordination of the production of the annual programme of training events, providing high quality administration for high profile events and supporting use of the in-house training booking system.
We are looking for someone with experience of supervising or managing others and wide-ranging experience of administration, including event administration. You should be passionate about ensuring that a high standard of service is provided and that the team is motivated and supported. You will take a professional, diplomatic and honest approach to your work and have experience of making decisions, including having a good understanding of when to refer decisions to others.
You must be IT literate with experience of using Microsoft Office, Office 365 and Microsoft Teams to an intermediate or advanced level. You should have experience of working with a range of IT systems and an ability to quickly understand and use new systems. Familiarity with learning management systems (e.g. Moodle) would be an advantage.
