In our seventy-fifth year, Willerby has been the UK’s largest manufacturer of holiday homes and lodges. We love designing practical and beautiful homes for parks not only in the UK but also across the world.
We have a vacancy for a hardworking Environmental Operative who can undertake waste management duties, as well as liaising with our Production and Supply Chain teams to ensure efficiency and cleanliness across the site.
**A little more about the role**
As Environmental Operative, you will be accountable for maintaining housekeeping standards and be able to work well under pressure, analyse and problem solve while embracing change and innovation.
You’ll be responsible for working with other Environmental colleagues to ensure the efficient and safe delivery of a high-quality environmental service to the business.
**Key responsibilities**:
- Ensure all waste is stored, handled and transported securely, in line with company procedures and health and safety guidelines
- Undertake forklift truck duties as required, ensuring daily safety checks are conducted thoroughly and company warehouse guidelines observed
- Undertake waste management duties, ensuring all recycling is processed efficiently, operating machinery in a safe manner
- Assist with cleaning, housekeeping and 5s
- Work with team colleagues to ensure the workplace environment is maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and tidiness that complies with the company and legislative standards at all times
- Provide cover for absent staff and assist newly appointment or less experienced colleagues
**About You**
You must hold a valid licence and be able to competently operate either an FLT, pallet truck or electrical towing buggy.
Evidence of your certification will be required prior to any offer of employment.
You will also have a good understanding of, and a commitment to, safe working practices from your experience of working within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Ideally, you will also have previous experience of Environmental duties including the principles of waste management.
