**Job Title: Media Evaluation & Analysis Officer**
**Band: 1**
**Salary: £28,000 - £31,000 per annum**

**Job Overview**

As part of the TfL Press Office Performance & Evaluation Desk, you’ll be assisting the Head of Desk - Performance & Evaluation in the effective monitoring and evaluation of media coverage around TfL and transport in London.
You will be responsible for monitoring and analysing media coverage to provide bespoke information and insight to the wider business to help increase the understanding of the reputation of TfL and London transport in the media.
This will also involve producing media coverage reports that demonstrate the effectiveness of Press Office activity.

**Key Accountabilities**
- Maintain the in-house media evaluation database, logging and evaluating relevant media coverage
- Generating bespoke media coverage/evaluation reports that demonstrate the effectiveness of Press Office activity
- Production of regular summaries/updates informing key people in TfL of media/blog activity surrounding TfL and the wider transport industry/London, facilitating decision making
- Producing media coverage updates for senior management around key announcements/issues/unplanned events, facilitating decision making
- Distribute press releases and other information as necessary to external and internal stakeholders
- Supporting the Media Planning Officer when required
- Press release distribution and uploading to TfL website when required
- Adding relevant content to TfL's contact management system/information database

**Key Interfaces**
- Press Office colleagues. This involves understanding their needs and delivering reports/summaries to facilitate decision-making or demonstrate performance
- Heads of Media and Heads of Press Desk. Coordination of timely and relevant reports on the performance of the TfL Press Office, including monitoring reports on the activity of individual press desks
- CCT colleagues. This involves understanding their needs and delivering reports/summaries to facilitate decision-making or demonstrate performance

**Knowledge**
- Some knowledge of media trends and the national, international, local, web-based and broadcast media (essential)
- Some knowledge of analytics/performance measurement (essential)
- Strong knowledge of the operations of a public transport provider (desirable)
- An understanding of IT, relevant software packages and how to operate effectively in an office environment (desirable)

**Skills & Experience**
- Good written and verbal communication skills (essential)
- Able to work collaboratively as part of a team with the capability to manage delivery of small projects as delegated by their line manager (essential)
- To support fellow members of the Press Office with the effective interpretation of information for planning and review (essential)
- To support the implementation of new methods, techniques and hardware which can further improve performance of the monitoring team and the wider Press Office team (desirable)
- Experience of working with performance data in a media relations environment (desirable)
- Experience of working in a highly charged political environment, or transport sector environment (desirable)
