**THE COMPANY**:
Richmond Hill Hotel is no ordinary building, with its spectacular views and prime leafy location this just isn’t an average place to visit. Situated on top of Richmond Hill, the surrounding medieval landscape was once dotted with picturesque riverside villages and orchards. It began to evolve from the construction of Sheen and Hampton Court Palaces where successive royal and aristocratic families moved in.

Richmond Park was originally enclosed for royal hunting. A series of grand houses, magnificent gardens and parks soon rose up from the water meads and woodland. Richmond Hill Hotel took shape in 1726 when two houses were built on the site. Over time, adjacent properties were added to fully form the hotel. Today, the building is part of a landmark conservation area, it also has two National Heritage List entries to top off its prime reputation. There is a reason why Turner and Constable came to paint on Richmond Hill. The landscape is breathtakingly calm, creating total relaxation.

With the luxury of contemporary fittings, bespoke detailing and subtle tones, the hotel offers a Georgian setting for the modern mind. Our destination restaurant, bar and terrace, 144 On The Hill compliments the hotels elegance with an inspired menu and calm considered spaces to meet, dine and relax.

As a Waiter/Waitress, you’ll have a lot on your plate with the following:

- Constantly striving to deliver an outstanding guest experience
- Offering recommendations to your guests, going above and beyond to make everyone's day - a (large) cup of coffee for Jade, as you noticed her new-born baby is grouchy? No problem
- Being personable and engaging with our guests in a service style that is relaxed yet professional

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Teamwork
- Professional appearance and manner to all visitors, resulting in positive PR both internally and externally
- To work with the Restaurant management team to promote communication in Restaurant department by attending regular team meeting with the team an encourage new ideas to drive the business forward
- Commitment to attend job chats and performance reviews
- Share passion about guest service with all restaurant team including bar staff
- To support and encourage existing and new team members, as well as training new staff members
- Being a Buddy for new starters

Service Delivery
- Responsible for ensuring total guest satisfaction within Restaurant operation through taking an active role in delivering all departmental operating standards, procedures and ways of working are met
- Responsible for inspiring exceptional guest service and supporting the team members to deliver on this, though following our steps of service
- Demonstrates a working knowledge of all services and facilities of the hotel, as well as local area. Therefore, ensuring our guests are assisted effectively
- Interacting with customers, taking orders and serving food in the Restaurant, Lounge and Lobby areas
- To serve food and liquor efficiently and courteously always
- Mise en place preparation of the restaurant area and ensure it is always maintained
- Attention to detail is crucial to ensure consistency of service and a keen desire to coach other restaurant team members to enhance their knowledge
- To be punctual, smart, correctly uniformed, and polite, courteous and helpful to guests always
- To make sure Restaurant is clean and that all preparation has been carried out to ensure a smooth service
- Development through NVQ training

Sales
- To report the Restaurant management team any opportunity for additional sales/revenue

Health & Safety
- Must attend all H&S and fire as directed by designated Line Manager
- To have knowledge of the Weights & Measures Act, Licensing Laws and Food Hygiene Regulations
- To report any maintenance faults to your Line Manager immediately
- To attend all Health and Safety Training as directed by your Line Manager
- To comply with COSHH regulations when using cleaning chemicals
- To work within company and legislative Health and Safety guidelines
- To know the company procedure and your role in the event of a fire
- To adhere to company policy with reference to hazard spotting, first aid reporting and reporting accidents
- To demonstrate an understanding of the need to control operating costs and energy conservation
