Job title: Team Member - Front of House
Reports to: General Manager
As a Front of House team member, you will ensure a seamless and quality customer experience for all our guests including bar, dining areas and accommodation. From the initial reservation to checking out or leaving our pub, you will provide our customers with an outstanding experience through delivering excellent customer service skills, exceeding the expectations of the customer throughout their visit.
- Welcome guests as they arrive and direct them either to the bar or their table as appropriate - ensure their table is ready, clean and laid up
- For guests that are dining, you will be expected to note any dietary requirements and allergens and pass these clearly to the kitchen team
- Check back during the guest visit to ensure that they are enjoying themselves and that they have everything they need
- Ensure you are knowledgeable about the menus, including any specials or limitations on the day along with suggesting suitable wine and other drinks to compliment the meal
- Confidence and knowledge to be able to recommend and upsell appropriate additions to the dining experience
- Ensure that you deliver dishes from the “pass” and drinks to the table in a timely
manner
- Clearing glassware and crockery from each table once the customers have finished their drinks or meals
- Ensure the bill is accurate before providing to the guest, and ensure the payment process, including any gratuities, is followed in line with the company’s procedures
- Follow health and food safety hygiene procedures at all times
- An ever present passion for creating memories and delivering incredible hospitality
- Great attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and memory skills
- Strong interpersonal and team work skills, including listening
- Ability to remain composed, particularly during stressful or uncomfortable circumstances
- Ability to maintain a positive attitude
- Know when to raise a complaint to a more senior member of the team
- Understand your customer’s needs
- Willingness to undertake additional duties as and when required
- Experience in a similar role an advantage
- A willingness to learn with an passion for providing an excellent customer experience
