**Our Submarines Business**

Our Submarines business has been safely delivering world class submarines to the UK Royal Navy for more than a century.

The Astute class will equip the Royal Navy with its largest and most capable generation of attack submarines. We are responsible for the design, build, test and commissioning of these state-of-the-art vessels. In total, seven boats will make up the fleet, each weighing a mighty 7,400 tonnes.

Dreadnought is the successor to the Vanguard class of nuclear deterrent submarines. We will deliver four submarines to the Royal Navy, with the first submarine entering service in the early 2030s. Dreadnought is widely considered to be one of the world's most complex engineering challenges.

**Assistant Commercial Officer**

Would you like to join a busy Commercial team here at BAE Systems? We currently have a vacancy for an Assistant Commercial Officer at our site in Barrow-In-Furness

As an Assistant Commercial Officer, you will be a part of the Commercial function which is responsible for various aspects such as pricing, negotiation, drafting of terms and conditions and the management of contracts.

This role will provide you with the ability to develop skills across various areas of the business and supporting the administration of contracts management. You will have the opportunity to shadow and be mentored by experienced Commercial professionals.

**Your main responsibilities as an assistant commercial officer will involve**:
Supporting the bid teams in line with Life Cycle Management (LCM) and Request for Bid Approval (RBA) procedures.

Drafting RBA documentation and support LCM Phase Reviews.

Preparing commercial proposals to be submitted to the Customer.

Undertaking contract administration duties including preparing customer approval requests, letters and notifications.

Assisting with reviewing and drafting contract Terms and Conditions and supporting the provision of commercial advice.

Developing and maintaining customer relationships both internally and externally.

Preparing and providing reports both internally and to the Customer.

Undertake departmental record keeping and support the Document Control Retention and Disposal Policy.

**Your skills and qualifications**:
Good Commercial understanding / understanding of contracts.

Competent in power point and MS office programmes.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Enthusiastic outlook and willingness to learn and adapt skills.

Team player and willing to be flexible and support wider team.

Customer communication skills
