Edinburgh, United Kingdom Jacobs Full time

**Your Impact**:
Over the next decade the world will need to decide how to achieve inclusive and sustainable growth. Fast paced urbanisation, water scarcity, energy security, digital proliferation, climate change and geo-political instability will significantly influence global prosperity.

At Jacobs we are recruiting a Transactions Advisory Consultant (Energy and Utilities) with significant experience in the delivery of transactions advice to enhance our service offering within the energy and utilities sector. In this role you’ll lead on the development and delivery of high impact reports and presentations to clients. You’ll contribute to continued growth by identifying, developing and leading business development opportunities including bids, proposals, capability development, and manage client stakeholder relationships to ensure buy-in to an agreed solution.

Our Transactions, Contracts and Commercial Advisory practice group provides advice and solutions to clients when they are considering investing in infrastructure assets, when these assets change hands, or when clients seek to manage and or improve the performance of their assets or their business.

**Here’s What You’ll Need**:
To thrive in this role, you’ll be self-motivated and willing to challenge established practice. Excellent oral and written communication skills are key, along with the ability to collaborate as a team, and across strategic consulting. You’ll have delivered at least 5 relevant projects successfully, along with:

- A relevant degree in a numerate discipline e.g. economics, engineering, mathematics, business, operational research or a science, or equivalent relevant experience
- Prior experience in transactions advice (commercial and/or technical due diligence) activities, ideally within the energy and utilities sector
- Transactions advisory experience within mergers and acquisitions (M&A)
- Understanding of public-private partnership (PPP) and power purchase agreements (PPA)
- Advanced user of spreadsheets, including a clear understanding and commitment to modelling best practice
- Experience of producing high quality technical reports for public and/or private sector clients
- Knowledge and understanding of the energy and utilities market
- Project/programme management experience, along with an understanding of project finance
- Ability to form relationships and develop industry connectivity
- Experience within a consulting environment, or within a financial institution (e.g. providers of equity/debt to projects requiring project finance)
