We are working with an outstanding school with a state-of-the-art specialist provision for students with Speech and Language Communication Needs (SCLN). **About the role - Learning Support Assistant** This Harrow based school is looking for a part-time learning support assistant (28.5 hours per week, term time) to join their staff team working in their specialist provision. The provision provides education and additional support to students aged 11-18with speech and language communication needs, this can range from mild communication needs to completely non-verbal students. Prior experience working with students with communication needs is desirable, particularly use of non-verbal communication methodsincluding PECS, Makaton and BSL. Your role will be to assist students to engage with lessons and communicate their needs to their peers and class teacher. You may also be required to help your student within a mainstream classroom also. **About the School - Learning Support Assistant** This is a secondary mixed mainstream school, with a resource provision for students with Speech and Language Communication Needs. They provide education to students in Harrow ages 11-18 years and currently have 798 students in the mainstream classes and12 students who attend their provision. The school is described as a friendly, happy and welcoming environment and were rated "Outstanding" in their most recent OFSTED report, and continuously top school performance tables yearly. The school are a happy, successfulschool which aim to enable all students to fulfil their potential through quality care and teaching. The school is a short walk from Northwood Underground Station in Hillingdon.
