**The Role**

Here at Greene King we are looking for a qualified Legal Counsel to join our corporate legal team and provide legal advisory on corporate commercial matters to our managed pub estate and head office functions. Reporting to the Senior Legal Counsel, thisrole is offered on a full-time permanent basis and offers agile working (50:50 office/home) from our Bury St Edmunds office. This role may suit an individual taking their first step from practice to industry, looking to join a leading company with fantasticbenefits and career development on offer.

**Key Accountabilities**
- Review and negotiation of wide range of commercial contracts
- Assist with litigation matters and either deal with small court claims in-house or manage external lawyer engagement
- Provide legal advice as appropriate, including in relation to promotions/competitions and data protection
- Maintain group trademark registrations, including advice on general trademark queries, infringement and protection issues and draft licences as required
- Support in relation to data protection, anti-bribery, internal approval processes and other relevant policies
- Preparation and maintenance of legal precedents database
- Assist with corporate M&A or other corporate transactions (including transaction management, project management and control of/liaison with external lawyers)
- Assist with company secretarial related matters

**Required Skills and Experience**

To be successful in this role, you will be a fully qualified Lawyer, ideally with around 2 years PQE from either practice or an in-house environment. Your experience will include corporate commercial exposure. You will also demonstrate the following skills:

- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence
- Meticulous attention to detail with an enquiring mind
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
