This is a great exciting for a 1st Line Support Engineer to join a busy IT Department servicing a growing retail business.
As a 1st Line Support Engineer, you will use a device management platform to manage various devices, learn and assist in the administration of security platforms, support new projects and provision new hardware for deployment, such as laptops, broadband routers and till equipment.
The role.
This job will give you a great insight into the behind-the-scenes workings of a fully functioning and dynamic IT department. Your work will be crucial in ensuring the wheels of the machine keep turning As such, you’ll be pivotal to the ongoing growth and development of this flourishing retail business.
The role of IT Support Assistant will include
**Troubleshooting**
- Answering helpdesk calls and resolving any issues where possible
- Trouble shooting and resolving simple network issues alone or with supervision
- Escalate issues to 3rd line support agencies when required
- Remote access other locations to assist users
- Working pro-actively to troubleshoot problems before they arise
**Business improvement**
- Assist in the creation and maintenance of documentation and diagrams of office infrastructure, underlying services and systems.
**About you.**
You’ll be enthusiastic and eager to learn with a motivation and desire to develop both your technical ability and industry knowledge.
Ideally, you will have
- Minimum 12 months experience in a similar IT Support role
- Excellent attention to detail.
- A proactive, flexible and adaptable approach
- Good Knowledge of Microsoft Windows 10/11
- Good Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, Outlook
- Basic understanding of networks and IP switching / routing
On top of these things, it would be great if you had the following technical qualifications
- Microsoft Specialist, MTA, MCSA, MCSE or equivalent
- Experience managing Office 365 technologies, such as Microsoft SharePoint
- Experience deploying networks and routers, DSL, firewalls, hardware and software VPN.
