Our technology teams in the UK work closely with HSBC’s global businesses to help design and build digital services that allow our millions of customers around the world, to bank quickly, simply and securely. We also run and manage our IT infrastructure, data centres and core banking systems that power the world’s leading international bank.

Our multi-disciplined teams include: DevOps engineers, IT architects, front and back end developers, infrastructure specialists, cyber experts, as well as project and programme managers.

We work in small, agile DevOps teams with colleagues around the world.

Following extensive investment across our Technology and Digital domains, we are currently seeking an Integration Platform Kubernetes Technical Lead to join HSBC Technology.

**Brief overview of the business areas**

**What you will be doing;**
- Drive the Platform to deliver further Automation, API management and Hybrid cloud computing.
- To lead emerging cloud technologies for our Internal Kubernetes Platform
- Understand customer requirements are met as part of designing, building and supporting our engineering solutions for customers.
- Help to define the engineering strategy for the platform enabling the creation of consumable products.
- Work together with other Engineering Practice Leads in the platform who are going to work on the “how” to do engineering, i.e. best practices, tooling, training, while influencing and guiding the “what” is being delivered in the platform in terms of engineered solutions.
- Maintain strong links and drive collaboration with other platforms in ES/CTO aiming co-responsibility over the ES wide product catalogue.

Requirements

**What you will bring to the role;**

To be successful in this role you should have proven experience within the Technology sector with knowledge of the following skills:

- Experience with the software products offered by Hybrid Integration Platform: (at least 5) Kubernetes (any flavour), Containers, API Gateways (Kong, Mulesoft, Apigee), Messaging and Integration technologies such as Kafka, MQ, RabbitMQ, Web technologies such as Liberty, Tomcat, Compute Grid
- Experience and Working knowledge on Software Defined Compute, Storage and Networks
- Experience with providing enterprise strength solutions to manage/operate a globally disperse infrastructure.
- Experience working across cultures and coordinating a globally dispersed team.
- Effective communication, problem solving skills, strategic and pragmatic approach to develop solutions.
- Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps Capabilities (CI/CD Pipelines, Automated Testing, Code Scanning etc.) and Infrastructure as Code Experience
- Ability to work in an ambiguous environment.
- Excellent People Leadership, Articulation, Strategic Planning and Influencing Skills.

**This role will primarily be based in London or another UK base location, some travel may be required.**
