Reporting directly to the General Manager.

The role of Hotel Supervisor is a hands on role with the overall responsibility of running the hotel on a day to day basis. The focus being on the restaurant, bar and housekeeping departments. However, there will be other duties which will allow the post holder to gain a broad knowledge of all aspects of the hotel.

**Key responsibilities**:
The overall responsibility of the Hotel Supervisor is to ensure that ‘quality’ is consistently of the highest standard throughout the hotel and that the postholder has an excellent attention to detail at all times. The Hotel Supervisor must always ensure that ALL hotel policies and procedures are followed at all times and to set an example to all other staff. Training of staff is a key feature of the Hotel Supervisor and is an on going responsibility on a day to day basis.

**Specific Responsibilities of**Hotel Supervisor **to include:

- Being a guest liaison and figurehead so that guests know who they can speak to.
- Provide information to guests about activities and unique things to see in the local area.
- Checking guests in and rooming them to the appropriate standard. Ensure guests first impression is excellent and where there are any issues correct them quickly.
- Service of all food and drink throughout the day
- Ensure all tables in the restaurant are being serviced in a timely, efficient and friendly manner at all times.
- Organising and supervising the team on your shift.
- Providing an efficient hand over at the end of the shift.
- Liaising with the kitchen to ensure that all the front of house team have all the required information.
- Ensuring excellent communication with the General Manager, Head Chef and business owners to ensure that high quality levels of service are maintained at all times.
- Building an excellent rapport with all guests to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
- Ensure that staff adhere to the required standard of cleanliness and hygiene at all times
- Providing a strong presence in the restaurant and bar, to provide an example to the staff and to ensure guests know who is in charge of the service at that time.
- Supervision of all daily jobs relating to restaurant staff.
- Ensuring all items are charged to bills as appropriate.
- Dealing with guests complaints in a polite, efficient and professional manner.
- Escalate to the General Manager where appropriate.

**General Responsibilities:

- Opening and closing of the hotel.
- The Hotel Supervisor will be share the responsibility for the training of new staff in the front of house department.
- Ensuring that safe practices are carried out at all times and responsibility as Hotel Supervisor to ensure that all health and safety matters are adhered to at all times.
- Liaising with suppliers to order new stock.
- Any maintenance issues are reported to the General Manager immediately.
- Having overall responsibility of the accuracy and timely reporting to the owners of the guest bills, banking analysis and polling each day.
- In the absence of the General Manager liaise with the maintenance man to ensure emergency and planned repairs are carried out to a timely and high quality standard.
- Any other duties as directed by the General Manager or business owners.
