**What will you be doing**:
**Essential Functions & Accountabilities**:
- Health and Safety:_
- Comply with Health & Safety at Work Act and promote good EHS and GMP practice within the department to ensure a safe working environment for all employees and visitors to the area. Particularly, ensure safe use of specialist equipment such as Order Pickers, fork lift trucks, pallet movers, racking, and other electrical equipment.
- Comply with all PPE policies and requirements for the area.
- Where requested, carry out daily checks against established EHS and GMP checklists covering equipment (e.g. Order Pickers, FLTs,) and the general working environment
- Operations:_
- Receive incoming lenses and Raw Materials from internal and external sources verifying all items are correct. Identifying, putting away products ensuring all goods are located and stored in the correct locations according to procedure and available for picking.
- Provide support to your Team Leader or Senior Operator through feedback on Inventory issues on a regular basis to ensure minimum disruption and maximum service levels.
- Actively promote and be prepared to participate in continuous improvement initiatives and projects.
- Carry out replenishments so stock is available in the forward pick locations for order allocation
- Once fully trained, operate any machinery, vehicles or equipment as required for your position and duties
- Drive company lorries on and between all CV UKM sites to make all necessary deliveries and collections to maintain the business requirements and materials flow, operating all necessary materials handling equipment such as Fork-lift Trucks.
- Ensure the departmental KPI targets are met and where possible exceeded in compliance with the organization’s requirements, including production targets, quality standards and customer requirements
- Liaise with Purchasing, Planning and QA to improve process and procedures to improve supply to Packaging and Distribution
- Be able to work in a team environment whilst being able to self-motivate and cover for the Team Leader / Senior Operator if absent.

**What skills and experience should you have?**
- Good working knowledge of Warehouse procedures and environment, computer inventory systems and Microsoft office (or competence to achieve this).
- Mechanical Handling Equipment Licenses; Order Pickers, VNA’s, forklift trucks, and pallet stacker (or competence to achieve this). Driving License to include C1 (7ton) and CPC Training (or competence to achieve this).
- Ability to recognise the existence of a problem and takes appropriate action to remedy the situation. Acknowledges mistakes and uses them as an opportunity for learning.
- Able to plan and prioritise tasks to meet deadlines; pays attention to detail and can use own initiative to make good business decisions
- Works effectively within a team environment and builds strong relationships to achieve the desired results. Acknowledges the diverse ability of others and is able to interact with a cross section of colleagues.
- Utilises effective communication skills to establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships at all levels of seniority, and conducts themselves in a professional and friendly manner.
**Experience**
- Good working knowledge of the warehouse.
- Enthusiastic and flexible; a team player who can work alone as well as within a team, with an interest is developing knowledge and implementing change.
- Good standard of education including English and Maths.
