**ON-DEMAND PEOPLE are recruiting for a Workshop Driver/Labourer for our well-respected client in the Manchester area.**

**Job Purpose**:
The driver’s role is to report to the manager/ office at 8.00 AM, collect and deliver electrical components to and from Manchester depot, and operate a 24-hour call-out on a rota basis. When required, will assist with shopfloor labouring duties.

**Key Accountabilities**:
1. Collect and deliver all parts as and when required during the day and out of hours.

2. Ensure motors are securely strapped down and covered.

3. Play an active part in the call-out system.

4. Assist colleagues when on call during overtime periods to prevent lone working circumstances.

5. During quiet periods, drivers must assist in workshop labouring duties and any other duties required by the Workshop Manager.

**Competencies**:

- **Communication** - Must carry and answer work mobile phone when called during normal hours and especially when on call.
- **Planning and Organising** - Establishing courses of action for self to ensure that work is completed efficiently.
- **Work Standards** - Setting high self-responsibility standards, i.e. correct PPE, high-vis jackets, steel toe cap work boots and smart appearance.
- **Initiating Action** - Must have initiative and be proactive.

**Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required**:
Must have a clean driving license (min. 12 months).

Must be able to work alone and as part of a team.

Must be trustworthy as a keyholder.

**Level of Decision Making**:
Responsible for the condition of all delivered motors to the site.

**Key Working Relationships**:
Key contact with the Workshop Manager, Supervisor, Admin Clerk and Engineers.

**Additional Information**:
Carry a phone when on call and always be available.

Accompany members of engineering staff during out of hours working.

**Rate of Pay**:
£12.05 P/H - NORMAL WKG HRS 08.00am - 16.30pm

OVERTIME (INC SATURDAYS) TIME AND A HALF RATE

OVERTIME SUNDAY - DOUBLE TIME RATE

**Job Type**: Temp to perm

Pay: From £12.05 per hour
