**Role Overview**
We’re looking for a meticulous editor and creative thinker to help us maintain Time Out’s extensive body of SEO content across North America and the UK. This is an exciting opportunity to make a mark on content that’s seen by millions of people every month, and to work in close collaboration with editors and audience development experts as we strategically develop our audience.
This person needs to be passionate about culture, travel and city living, and feel as comfortable rewriting the introduction to a list of the best bars in Budapest as they are finding an emerging topic on Google Trends. They’ll be motivated by data, hungry for knowledge and obsessed with audience growth. They mustn’t be intimidated by a spreadsheet.
Above all else, we’re looking for someone who knows what it takes to optimise a piece of content for SEO. They’ll be a skilled and efficient writer who’s able to remain incredibly organised whilst balancing a wide range of priorities and tasks, working systematically through a schedule of content updates whilst analysing the effectiveness of those updates on an ongoing basis.
**Responsibilities**
- Update curated lists by rewriting copy, fact-checking details, adding internal links and ensuring pages are fully optimised for SEO.
- Update hubs and homepages to improve content discoverability and build Time Out’s site architecture.
- Carry out keyword research and monitor search trends using tools such as Google Trends, Google Analytics and Semrush to ensure we are targeting the biggest and best content opportunities.
- Work in close collaboration with the SEO Manager to plan a schedule of content updates, anticipating surges in interest around seasonal topics and themes.
- Support the Audience Development team in defining SEO best practice and training editors accordingly, as well as providing ad hoc feedback to help optimise individual pieces of content and reviewing content that has been written by other editors.
- Create new curated lists and news posts when required to address fresh search opportunities.
- Embrace Time Out’s data-driven approach to content by monitoring the performance of curated lists on a daily basis, making reactive changes to ensure this content contributes to the Editorial team hitting (and exceeding) monthly goals.
