Support Worker/carer

We are recruiting for an experienced and competent carer to join an established team supporting a gentleman with an acquired brain injury. ‘B’ lives with his wife and two children in a fully adapted property. 'B' requires assistance to meet his personal care and therapeutic needs. He self-propels a manual wheelchair and has good upper body strength. ‘B’ has limited short-term memory and can find it difficult to process everything that is being said to him; clear communicators and lots of patience are essential.
He has a brilliant sense of humour; someone with some good banter is a must
‘B’ attends a day centre two days a week. The rest of his week is filled with a mixture of therapeutic activities, trundles by the seafront, family time, and hydro sessions.
Average contract of 18 hours per week.
3 week rota pattern:
- Week 1: Weekday (Monday) 9am - 9pm
- Week 2: Both weekend days 8am - 8pm
- Week 3: Weekday (Wednesday)9am - 9pm
A full clean driving license is required, non-smoker essential.
