**The Role**

This role provides strategic and operational leadership for children’s social care interventions that will form the basis of the Family Help model and service, when a family need a period of statutory intervention. As a key member of the children’s services senior leadership team (SLT) the postholder will work side by side with the other Heads of Service, to implement the Families First for Children model in a way that fits the Tameside context through a co-ordinated process of re-aligning statutory services.

This role will have responsibility for the Multi-Agency Child Protection team (MACPT) and all statutory work on the continuum of need from Public Law Outline to Court work, including the social work role in the Family Help system more generally. It will be accountable for outcomes achieved for children through statutory assessment and legal interventions.
