**Rent Manager Immediately Required**
Duration: Permanent
Location: Chesterfield
Hours: 37 hours per working week
Pay Rate: Starting at £32,821.43 rising in increments £35,650.87 per annum
- Ensure all associated rent recovery letters and documents are reviewed in line with the Income Collection and Recovery Policy
- Ensure the recovery processes within the Rents System are in line with the Income Collections and Recovery Policy
- Work closely with Money Advisors, Credit Unions and related individuals and organisations to raise awareness amongst clients, of strategies for dealing with debt
- Ensure that each officer within the Rents Team fully understands and follows the Income Collection and Recovery policy and all associated procedures to ensure consistency and fairness
- Liaise with internal sections especially Neighbourhood Services and external services i.e. Adult Social Care - to include attendance and active participation in Case Conferences ensuring they are fully informed of any actions to be taken
- Support and assist tenants to sustain their payments by providing effective welfare benefits and debt counselling advice to customers and by making referrals to Financial Inclusion Officers and other relevant support agencies
- Identify and implement preventive measures to reduce risk of serious debt arising, presenting of all legal documentation relating to possession hearing, presenting cases in County Court for possession hearings. Undertake evictions with the assistance ofthe County Court Bailiff
- Undertake one to one and annual reviews with the Rent Team officers to ensure all cases are being progressed and provide advice and guidance on managing cases
- Ensure regular liaison meetings between the Rents Team and the Neighbourhood Services Teams take place and to monitor the effectiveness of the meetings being undertaken
- Review Former Tenant Arrears and make recommendations on cases for write off in line with policies and procedures and in conjunction with the Community Sustainment Manage
- At least 2 years’ experience of working in a housing and/ debt management related service
- Full driving licence with access to a vehicle
